The Jack Lane Charitable Trust

A Charity for Gloucestershire and Wiltshire

The Jack Lane Charitable Trust was established in 2002 to benefit the communities of North Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire. We are able to champion and fund exciting and inspirational projects in these areas thanks to the extraordinary generosity of one man: Jack Lane.

Jack Lane was a devoted farmer with a strong passion for the countryside. Farming was his life; he rarely travelled far from his Gloucestershire home and never took a holiday. After his wife Hilda died, and having no children or close relatives, he sold his farm, moved into a bungalow and settled into gentle retirement. He died in 2002 leaving the bulk of his estate to help charitable causes.

Jack’s spirit of kindness and goodwill lives on today thanks to the Jack Lane Charitable Trust. We provide grant funding for local projects and activities. Over the past 17 years we have given grants totalling more than £500,000 for projects both large and small in a diverse range of areas.
